In this tutorial, I show you how to access and replace the keyboard in an HP Pavilion dv6 Laptop. This process is very easy but it may take a good amount of time. Once you are able to access the keyboard, replacement and upgrading are very easy. It also allows you to access other components beneath the keyboard. Then, open up the hard drive bay on the back (shown by three discs stacked as a symbol on the plastic), and remove three more screws located under the hard drive itself. Then pull the keyboard up and toward the screen of the computer, and it will come out. You will then see the ribbon cable attached to the motherboard, and to remove this, just lift up on the tab covering the connection, and slide the ribbon cable out. To replace, just reverse the steps. Sorry I was not able to show you what happens after you pull the keyboard out in the video, one of the screws was a little stripped after doing this once before. The screws have a type of glue that holds them in so make sure you have exactly the right screwdriver head to prevent stripping.
